Meet the lovely Lydia!
With over 20 years of experience in tattooing, Lydia Bruno has honed her craft through a combination of old-school apprenticeship and self-teaching.
Lydia's journey into the tattoo world began in New York, where she started under a traditional "trial by fire" apprenticeship. Immersed in the gritty, fast-paced world of tattooing, she quickly became known for her unique style, blending graffiti influences with portraits and pop culture elements.
After completing her apprenticeship, Lydia basically ran the studio she worked at and tattooed professionally for two years, continuing to refine her skills and grow her reputation. During this time, she was mentored by the talented Jimmy D'Agostino, whose guidance helped her fine-tune her artistry and technique.
Although Lydia has deep respect for traditional tattooing, much of her work is self-taught, allowing her to develop a distinctive style that draws from both old-school tattooing and modern influences. Her pieces often feature graffiti-inspired portraits and a seamless blend of pop culture references, making her tattoos instantly recognizable.
Lydia was an artist on Season 4 of Ink Master, showcasing her skills on a national stage and continuing to push the boundaries of tattoo artistry.
